About the Tours

An Xtreme 4x4 tour is Moab's most intense guided off-road experience — a custom Monster Buggy through Hell's Revenge Trail, tackling Level 5 obstacles including Hell's Gate, Mickey's Tubs, and the legendary Escalator both up AND down. Nothing else like it exists on earth.

We are the ONLY company in Moab that takes guests through Hell's Gate and conquers the Escalator — both up AND down — in a full-size Monster Buggy. Dave Hellman's 15+ years, 3,500+ Escalator climbs, and 100+ trail rescues make this unmatched in the world.

The Escalator is one of the most infamous rock-crawling obstacles in the world — a near-vertical slab of slickrock on Hell's Revenge Trail rated Level 5 out of 6. Dave Hellman has conquered it 3,500+ times going up and 1,600+ times coming down with passengers aboard in his custom Monster Buggy.

Xtreme 4x4 terrain is Level 5 out of 6 — genuinely extreme off-road. Moab Scenic Adventure is Level 4. Despite the rating, guests of all ages experience these safely every day with our expert guides and purpose-built vehicles.

Yes. The Monster Buggy has 5-point harness restraints and advanced safety systems engineered for slickrock. KRX side-by-sides have custom tires built for Moab's surface. And Dave Hellman's 15+ year safety record — including 100+ trail rescues — speaks for itself.

You drive a four-seat Kawasaki KRX 1000 through Hell's Revenge Trail and Hell's Gate. An expert local guide handles navigation and safety while you focus on the thrill. Starts with a full safety briefing and vehicle orientation. Choose 2.5 or 3.5 hours.
